New Make & Mend Sessions will take place every Wednesday 10am-12pm at the Boiler House.
The class is open to everyone, particularly individuals that may be struggling with the cost-of-living crisis or with social isolation.
Don’t worry if you have no previous experience in woodworking, there will be a trainer to help you through your projects.
During these sessions you will make household items like chopping boards, shelving, stools and tables. You will also be able to bring things from your home and shown how to repair them.
These sessions and all materials are provided for FREE!
- Organiser of Making and Mending Sessions
The Boiler House is managed by Sow the City. We aim to provide free and low-cost use of tools, equipment and space for people and be a catalyst for people to reach their potential. We run a variety of community workshops, providing skills for employment, improving health and wellbeing, developing a circular economy, and promoting gender and race equality.
Our centre provides space for people of all ages and backgrounds to work together and participate in practical hands-on ways to shape their lives and communities. This could be as simple as making planters for growing veg at home, or as complex as developing collaborative art, or designing and fabricating new products. We believe everyone can participate given the right encouragement and support.
